Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Carayat (YAT CAR) is a true amphibious caravan-boat — you can tow and drive it on the road, then transition it onto lakes, rivers and calm coastal waters.

Length overall is 4.60 m, beam 2.20 m and height 1.95 m. Its light displacement is about 750 kg, and its fully loaded displacement is 1,250 kg.

Carayat has a capacity of 5 persons. Per ISO 14946, the manufacturer's maximum recommended load is 500 kg (passengers plus cargo).

On water it is driven by a 5 to 25 HP outboard engine, with a cruising speed of about 5 knots. Per ISO 11592, the maximum permitted propulsion power is 94.9 kW (127 HP).

Carayat is certified as Design Category D, suitable for sheltered inland waters — lakes, rivers and calm coastal stretches.

Stability tests found it safe to the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) criterion with a 5-passenger load. The maximum righting arm (GZ) is 0.53 m at 21.8°, and the craft is certified as Design Category D under ISO 12217-3.

Carayat is calculated to ISO 12217-3 (stability and buoyancy), ISO 12216 (window/hatch strength), ISO 11812 (watertight cockpit), ISO 11592 (propulsion power) and ISO 14509 (sound), with hull plating thicknesses compliant with Türk Loydu yacht rules.

The hull is a mould-cast fiberglass–polyester–epoxy composite. The hull-chassis uses 5 plies (6 mm) and the body and roof use 4 plies (5 mm) of marine-grade lamination.
